Once upon a time, in a children’s fairytale book, I’ve seen a beautiful princess with a flowing dress and a tall, pointed hat. I’ve never quite forgotten this drawing and so I had to translate it into crochet one day…
To get a flowing dress I used a thin silk georgette. I found a matching Liberty fabric, the turquoise Betsy, to make a small scarf (very simply by just cutting a long thin piece of fabric). I then took some matching yet contrasting yarn for her accessories. I would have loved to attach a train to the hat but was fearing that it wouldn’t flow properly, so I rather used a small pompon. Maybe next time I’ll try the train! And because it was too difficult to crochet a small, holey piece of cheese, I just cut a piece of sponge. As usual, I used a crochet size 2.5 and DMC cotton Natura yarn and some thinner thread for the face and claws.
Here are some making of pictures:
The turquoise Betsy, IS a beauty, isn’t it?
